Simmtronics is the newest entrant in the lucrative Indian smartphone market. After launching Xpad tablets, it now brings new Android-based smartphones under the Xpad brand starting at a price of Rs 3,499. The company has also announced Rs 200 crore investment in the smartphone business. 

The company has launched two smartphones under its Xpad brand in a price range of Rs 3,499 to Rs 8,999. It plans to offer the Xpad range of smartphones across all segments starting from single-core entry-level to quad-core high-end, superior devices. Simmtronics has already launched its devices in the UAE market during GITEX 2013. The products have been receiving overwhelming response from Africa, Egypt, GCC and CIS countries, claims the company.

The company has a turnover of Rs 550 crore and targets Rs 800 crore of revenue in the next fiscal year. It has invested Rs 200 crore in the smartphone segment with a revenue target of Rs 500 crore by this financial year end. The company is reportedly anticipating growth and also gearing up for local production. It also claims to be the only company to be licensed by Ericsson and have a licensed access to launch 2G, 3G, 4G LTE products across the globe, both smartphones and tablets. It has also partnered with HCL Care to offer after sales services.

Simmtronics' phone range includes Fundroid, Amazoid and Smartdroid lineup of devices. Its smartphones will be available across India through leading retail stores and also via online stores.
