Bethesda today released a massive update for their rather excellent RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This patch tweaks a bunch of stuff including performance as well as certain quest related issues. But what’s most interesting is that this patch includes the Skyrim launcher support for Steam Workshop that makes browsing and downloading mods extremely easy.

Bethesda have also said they will be releasing the User Creation Kit for Skyrim real soon. Now keep in mind this is the same piece of Software Bethesda used to design this game so talented and experienced modders can now go to town designing content for this sprawling RPG. All the user created (and not to mention FREE) mods can then be browsed and downloaded through Skyrim’s Steam Workshop. I can’t wait to see the stuff people come up with once they get access to the Creation Kit.

Till that happens, you can get your Skyrim mod fix from Skyrim Nexus that already boasts of thousands of user created mods. I’d say they’re definitely worth checking out as these mods greatly improve the visual and technical quality of this game.

For the whole list of fixes this patch brings to the table you can head over to Bethesda’s blog.
