Around a week back, we had some specs of the Xperia Arc and now there is news that the phone could be having unlimited touch points. There is no confirmation of the news but it will be interesting to see how they implement multiple touch points on a 4.2-inch screen.

Don’t get this confused with multi-touch, which has gestures with multiple fingers. What is being said here is that the Xperia Arc has multi-touch from any point on the phone’s touchscreen. The feature is powered by a Cypress Digitizer that allows for unlimited touch registration. Check out the image below to see how they differ from each other.

So there you go, as per the pic and the rumors, you could probably “manipulate multiple objects” with ten plus (what?) fingers. It possibly makes sense on the iPad, thanks to it’s bigger display size but we really want to see what kind of apps and features will make use of multi-touch from different points.
