We told you a few days ago about Sony Ericsson India planning on launching the Xperia Play in India in April. Well, that seems to have been realized now, what with the smartphone being listed on Indian online retailer Flipkart's website for pre-order. The Xperia Play has been given an estimated release window of April’s second week, and is priced at Rs. 32,000. It’s a bit lower than what was speculated, but it’s still pretty steep nevertheless.

Take a look at the Xperia Play’s specs:
- 1 GHz Scorpion ARMv7 CPU
- Adreno 205 GPU
- 4-inch capacitive multi-touchscreen at a resolution of 480×854
- Slide-out controls
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- 5 Megapixel Camera with autofocus and LED flash
- micro-USB port
- 8GB microSD card, expandable to 32GB
- 1,500mAh battery
I certainly can’t wait to get our hands on the device. Hopefully, Sony Ericsson India decides to make this official soon. Anyway, you can pre-order the Xperia Play here. Also, if you're so inclined, you can check out the follow-up to the Xperia Play's initial ad below, which somehow manages to be even weirder than the first one.
