After being hacked and being taken down for close to a month, Sony has started resuming its PSN service in some parts of the US. Currently, the service has gone back online in some states and as of now, there aren’t any announcements stating when the service will be back online in India and in other parts of the world. We can only assume that this will happen in the next 24 hours. Early reports by users online state the network is back online only for multiplayer gaming and most of the other features are still disabled. Sony had announced earlier that the restoration of the network would begin soon.

The PSN was first attacked on the 20th of last month by a group called Anonymous. It was later known that user data including credit card information along with other details such as names and e-mail IDs, might have been leaked. Sony had disabled the network to prevent any more such attacks and to fix any issues before putting it back online. Sony official had apologized publicly for the loss of this data. Sony had also promised a package which included certain freebies to compensate users.
