Fans have clamored for an SSX game since years and at the recently held Spike VGA awards, EA finally obliged by unveiling SSX: Deadly Descents. While most would consider that as good news, staunch supporters of the game were disappointed with the gritty look EA seem to have adopted for this game.
Instead of flashing neon lights and over-the-top shenanigans, we were shown something very dark and realistic, more on the lines of a Call of Duty. While the shift from over-the-top to stark realism doesn’t affect me, I am highly apprehensive of the fact that EA may incorporate SKATE-esque controls into the game.
Deadly Descents will put players into the boots of a team of highly skilled boarders as they strive to conquer some of the world’s most dangerous mountain peaks. Besides the forces of nature themselves, they’ll also have to take into consideration the cut-throat competition that awaits them at every turn. And of course, this being an SSX game and all, they’ve have to pull this off with immense flair.
SSX: Deadly Descents is being developed by EA Canada for the Xbox360 and PS3.
