The first biography on Steve Jobs, that has been authorized by the man himself is due to be published in early 2012. There have been biographies on Jobs before but none of them have been authorized, and one was even disapproved of. This authorized biography will be called, “iSteve: The Book of Jobs” and will be published by Simon and Schuster. The biography has already been written by Walter Isaacson who's been collecting information about Jobs, interviewing his colleagues, family and competitors.

Isaacson has previously worked with CNN and Time, and has written best-sellers on Bejamin Franklin and Albert Einstein. “This is the perfect match of subject and author, and it is certain to be a landmark book about one of the world’s greatest innovators,” Jonathan Karp, publisher of Simon & Schuster, said in a statement. “Just as he did with Einstein and Benjamin Franklin, Walter Isaacson is telling a unique story of revolutionary genius.” This comes at a time when Jobs' health is in a critical condition and he's survived a rare but curable form of pancreatic cancer. He surprised audiences by appearing at the iPad 2 conference.
