Skyrim puts players in control of the Dovhakiin, which is dragon tongue for Dragonborn, in the icy Viking-inspired region of Skyrim. The series is very well known for its open world that lets players roam around and do whatever they want, from exploring treacherous caverns to finding treasure, or picking flowers and making potions.

Earlier this month, Bethesda had released some new screenshots for Skyrim's upcoming DLC – titled Dragonborn. Along with the screenshots, the company also revealed some information about the DLC.

Here is some information about Dragonborn according to Bethesda:

  • Explore Beyond Skyrim Leave the province of Skyrim and travel to the coastal island of Solstheim. Encounter the Dark Elven settlers of Raven Rock and the native Skaal, as you unravel the mystery of a Dragonborn's return.
  • Become the Ultimate Dragonborn?Harness the power of the Voice as you face off against the first Dragonborn. Wield new shouts and spells including Dragon Aspect – allowing you to summon the inner power of a dragon to deliver colossal blows and strengthen other shouts.
  • New Powers?Discover dark powers as you journey into a new Daedric realm. Collect books of forbidden knowledge and choose new paths for your skills and abilities.
  • New dungeons, creatures, weapons, and more Suit up in Bonemold and Chitin armors and wield Stalhrim weapons as you navigate through a myriad of dungeons. Battle formidable foes like Ash Spawn, Rieklings, and more.

Bethesda had originally revealed Dragonborn through a trailer earlier this month. The trailer shows a return to Morrowind, with most of its trippy flora and fauna intact. The trailer also reveals the existence of another character that is a dragonborn, and has shown the ability to ride dragons. Bethesda has announced that the DLC will be available on Xbox Live on December 4 and is set to cost 1600 Microsoft Points which roughly converts to Rs 1,100. The release date for the PC has not been mentioned, and since the PlayStation 3 version hasn’t gotten any DLC so far, it is doubtful if the console will get this one.
