The Swype keyboard has been quite a craze amongst Android users. It’s not too surprising that the feature has been imitated by many others as well. For now, it looks like HTC has got hooked to inputting through swipes.

AndroidCentral had a hands-on with the HTC Sensation and found this feature called Trace, neatly tucked away inside the keyboard settings. HTC Trace is an input method being added to the latest HTC Sense UI 3.0. It seems that the feature is disabled by default and will have to be activated through the keyboard settings screen. There are some settings which lets the user customize the accuracy of the tracing line. One such setting includes the thickness which can be changed depending on how thick and stubby your fingers are.

This feature will come to the HTC Sensation once the smartphone starts shipping next month. It doesn’t come by as a surprise that the feature will  be included in future smartphones running Sense 3.0. However, there’s no idea whether it will be backward compatible or not.
