Twitter today rolled out a small yet significant update for its BlackBerry 10 users. The updated app features Universal search, which displays more information in the search results, like related profiles and tweets, top tweets, photos and other relevant results.

Besides featuring bug fixes and an improved UI, the Twitter app brings in the latest content to the user without the latter having to manually refresh it. The updated app is currently up for grabs on the BlackBerry World store for free. To be able to use the Twitter app, users will require a BB10 smartphone running OS 10.0.0 or higher. Head over to the store to download the free app.

Updated with Universal Search, improved UI

Updated with Universal Search, improved UI

Twitter's update for its BB10 users comes days after it updated its apps on two other platforms. Earlier this month, Twitter updated its Android and iOS apps with the ability to display local Trends. The iOS version of the app also has improved playback for videos uploaded to Vine. This comes as no surprise, as the Vine app was also recently updated with performance tweaks and improved playback. This fix isn't present in the Android version of the app since Twitter hasn't released Vine for the platform.

The last update for the Twitter app for Android completely overhauled the user interface. The new user interface follows the Holo Android-style guidelines better than the previous UI. It manages to retain most of the style and actions we’ve come to associate with it.
