Now the Spice Mi-410 looks like a very serious contender. More than a week back we told you about the Spice Mi-410 launching for Rs. 13,999. At that price, the smartphone had some brilliant specifications, good enough to probably beat the Galaxy Ace. However, the Ace had an upper hand in the sense of being upgradable to Gingerbread.
Now with Gingerbread goodness
An interesting twist to this event now is that the Spice Mi-410 can be upgraded to Gingerbread, as well, although not officially. For those of you who haven’t heard, the Mi-410 actually is a rebranding of the Huawei Ideos X6. Cherry Mobile, a Filipino company has announced the latest version of Android for the Magnum HD which is their version of the Ideos X6. So while Spice hasn’t launched the update officially, Mi-410 users can definitely download Gingerbread and it will work absolutely.
Users will have to exercise a little caution though, as you might end up rendering the warranty inapplicable. If you are keen on downloading Gingerbread, click here and follow the instructions mentioned on the site. If you've tried downloading the upgrade and got it working, let us know about your experience in the comments section below.
