HTC are already at work on a new Gingerbread based tablet as well as a couple of new phones. But now they have also decided to team up with the social networking giant and release a Facebook themed phone.
According to London financial daily, City AM, HTC is hard at work on two new smarphones which will bear the ‘Facebook’ branding and colours. While the exact features of the said phones are yet unknown, it is said that the phones will run on a tweaked version of Google’s Android OS and that Facebook will have a much more prominent display on the devices.
It is also being said that users will have Facebook message and newsfeeds directly available on their home screen and will also be able to make calls via the information stored on Facebook pages.
The whole plan is hush-hush as of now, but with the Mobile World Congress a few weeks away, news regarding these interesting little smartphones should appear soon. Facebook has been on quite the warpath with its push into the mobile sector, with the release of a free app for low end phones and now with a smartphone being specifically built with its capabilities in mind, It is making sure that every single person on the planet is connected to each other via its website. Even if it means buying a phone just to do so.
