Viewsonic has announced that its Viewpad 10 Tablet will receive an Android update. At release, The Viewpad 10 ran on Android 1.6 and wasn’t updated to a later version of Android for quite some time. The Viewpad 10 not only runs on Android, but also Windows 7 via a dual-boot system.
Time for an upgrade.
But not anymore, for those who want to update their devices to the Android 2.2 can do so doing a manual update. You can start by downloading a 289MB ISO file (click here) and then creating a bootable USB drive via the downloadable application.
Once the Bootable USB device is ready, all the user has to do is plug in the USB device, along with a USB keyboard and make sure that the power is connected to the tablet. The 10-inch tablet from Viewsonic is powered by an 1.66Ghz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. We have reviewed the Viewsonic View Pad 10 as well as its little brother the Viewpad 7 (powered by a ARM processor), you can read the indepth review for both devices by clicking here for the Viewpad 10 and here for the Viewpad 7.
