As Windows Phone gains speed as the new frontier for apps, more and more services are coming to the platform. Video sharing service, Vimeo is now available as an app through the Windows Phone Marketplace. The online service is a popular place for semi-professional films and videos, and the app, which is already available for iOS and Android, now acts as an extension of the online service on your Windows Phone. Through the app, you can upload videos to Vimeo from your phone. You can also watch and manage all your Vimeo videos. The videos you watch can be from your Vimeo inbox, your Watch Later queue or videos that you've liked. The app also allows you to discover and search for videos

The app allows you to upload your footage in HD. You can pause and resume uploads as well as edit titles, descriptions, tags and privacy settings. You can also replace existing videos. You can get stats on your videos and see likes and comments. You can also share your videos on Facebook, Twitter, email and SMS. Finally, you can add videos to your Groups, Channels and Albums. The app requires Windows Phone version 7.5, i.e. Mango and up.
It seems the Vimeo app for Windows Phone has the same abilities as its Android counterpart, both of which seem to have fewer abilities than the iOS version. With the iOS version, you can edit your videos in app. You can capture your footage with focus control and grid alignment. You can also trim videos, add them to one another and make cut and paste edits. You can add transitions, titles and effects as well as music and recordings. You can control the volume levels of the sound in your video. And finally, you can either save your edited video to your camera album or upload directly to Vimeo. The iOS app requires an iPhone 3GS and up running iOS 4.0 and up. It is available for free from the iOS App Store.
