Earlier this month, Dhaval Valia, a resident of Mumbai was issued a warning by Vodafone, after he, in a fit of frustration posted comments on Facebook, allegedly considered defamatory by Vodafone. Ever since the news leaked out, Dhaval Valia, a business journalist saw that he wasn’t the only one suffering this ordeal.

(No) Power to you!

Now, Power to you!

According to the various comments posted on popular social networking site, Facebook; the same medium that Valia used to vent his anger, it was seen that several other harried customers of Vodafone came out up in arms in support of Valia. Although Vodafone claimed that it gracefully accepts critical feedback, its response to Dhaval’s initial comments proved otherwise. The entire episode gained a lot of momentum in the mainstream media, and it was not long before Vodafone began feeling the heat of it.

In a statement provided by Vodafone, it has been stated that the defamation charges levied against Dhaval Valia have been withdrawn ‘in good faith’.
