Volition has started a new series of trailers for its upcoming game Saints Row 4. The trailer, titled Saints Force One, is the first in what will be a series of trailers, dubbed Hail to the Chief. The trailer doesn't really show much of the game. It just shows the main protagonist of the Saints Row series messing around with an alien with his psychic powers. Check it out:

Earlier this month, Volition had released the Meet the President trailer, which gave us a look at the powers and abilities of the main character of the game – the unnamed boss of the Third Street Saints. Quite a bit of time has passed since the end of Saints Row 3. The boss has now become the President of the United States and must fight against aliens using superpowers. The trailer pokes fun at the insane powers that the character has, as well as politics in general.

Back in March, Deep Silver had announced that Saints Row 4 will be hitting store shelves on August 20 in the US and August 23 everywhere else. The game will be making its way to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The President has superpowers. This can only end in tears.

While the developer is the same, the publisher is different. After THQ died, Deep Silver bought up the rights of the franchise and is now publishing the games. You may better know Deep Silver as the publisher for Techland’s Dead Island series.

Saints Row 4 was originally going to be a DLC for Saints Row: The Third – titled Rise of the Dominatrix – but Volition later announced that the DLC will instead be a part of Saints Row 4.
