Bollywood’s action scenes have evolved, right from Sunil Dutt’s acts of violence in ‘Mother India’ to Deepika Padukone’s mid-air stunts in ‘Chandni Chowk to China’. Call them hilarious, twisted, captivating or simply awesome, what should be considered for once is the effort to add such scenes in our typical Bollywood flicks. Of course, there’s a bit of a geeky angle for those who love seeing special effects put to good use.

Here’s what some of our in-house favorite fight scenes are.

Kamakshi: I prefer them to be totally outrageous and escapist fight scenes. Being a big Rajnikant fan, I can't single out one best scene of his. So I'll go with a Hindi-remake of the Rajni-starrer ‘Baasha’. My pick is the fight scene from the movie Big Brother, with Sunny Deol in the title role. A furious brother trying to settle scores for his acid-attacked sister: does it get any more “Bollywood” than this?

Hemali: I would like to pick the scene from Krissh that has Hrithik beating up some baddies mid-air. A fair bit of effects have been used to make these scenes possible and they are quite impressive.

Nirmal: My all-time favorite action scene is the '10-10 ki daud' from the film ‘Ghulam’. Aamir Khan did the stunt himself, running towards a speeding train, calculating the time when it would hit him, and finally deciding it was close enough to jump off the rails. Mind blowing!

Gareth: My pick would be a movie that long back made me believe that not all Bollywood action sequences are hilarious exaggerations. The action scenes from Mission Kashmir top my list. Everything from blood drops to explosions have been worked on with fine detail (using special effects). Here’s one of my favorite picks from the movie.
