With the release of Activision’s flagship first person shooter just around the corner, the Xbox 360 version of the game has been leaked online. According to Eurogamer, downloads of the game have shown up over all the torrent websites eight days before its official release. As a result, videos have been popping up all over YouTube that show some of the gameplay.

Responding, Treyarch design director David Vonderhaar took to Twitter to say: “If you are going to live-stream the game early, which I don't remotely recommend, you could at least be good at it. :P” He later tweeted, “I'm really glad people are excited for the game. Legit streams coming up later this week and early next. Watch this space.”

This is much like last month's leak of Halo 4. Halo 4 is available on torrent sites with all uploaders having their own versions of the disks. Some have single ISO files for each disk, sized 8,334MB; others have the entire two-disk game in one torrent. The torrent for the game is being seeded by several thousand torrenters, and is spreading like wildfire. This can be attributed to the fact that Halo 4 is easily one of the most anticipated games this year.

While Microsoft had attempted to quickly stop the problem by issuing a ban to players who were playing a pirated copy of Halo 4 from Xbox Live, it is not clear if the company will repeat the idea, as Halo 4 was a first-party titled being published by Microsoft themselves.

The future is black

Black Ops II has been leaked to torrents

Last month, Activision had released the launch trailer for Black Ops II. The trailer shows a bunch of new things, like inclusion of wearable wings that let you fly, wrist mounted grappling guns, and mechs that will do the fighting for you – all this with Back in Black by AC/DC playing in the background.

The trailer also mentions the pre-order bonuses for Black Ops 2, which include the Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map and double XP for the first weekend after release, which will be November 16 to November 18.

Here is the description of Nuketown 2025 by Activision: “An arena-style map with unique art design, Nuketown promoted the type of fast-paced action that Call of Duty fans from around the world have come to love. Now re-imagined in a 50's depiction of the ‘Model Home of the Future’ Nuketown 2025 is set to take that familiar close-quarters chaos into the future!”

The previous game in the Call of Duty series was Modern Warfare 3, which was released last year. While gameplay stayed very much the same as previous iterations, the stakes had been raised significantly, as the game’s protagonists had to deal with the looming threat of World War III. If you have played previous CoD games, specifically the Modern Warfare series, Modern Warfare 3 will be familiar territory with non-stop balls-to-the-wall action and cinematic set-pieces.
