Here are some of the highlights of the Xolo X500:

  • 3.5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi

The phone will be available in 2-3 days and will cost Rs 8,999.

According to an earlier report, the previous phone by Xolo – the X900 – has gotten an OS update that bumps the phone up to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The update can be downloaded from the company’s website, or you can simply get the download over the air (OTA) through the phone’s settings.

The Xolo X900 was launched in India back in April. The TFT LCD display of the phone features Corning’s Gorilla Glass. The phone ships with Android v2.3 (Gingerbread). It is 10.9 mm thick and weighs 127 g; so it’s fairly slim and light. It’s a quad-band GSM and 3G phone with support for HSPA+. The highlight of this phone is the new Medfield CPU from Intel, the Z2460. Based on the 32nm fabrication process, the Z2460 SoC features a single core CPU running at 1.6GHz along with the usual Intel features such as Hyper Threading and Burst Performance Technology (or TurboBoost). The graphics are taken care of by PowerVR SGX540 GPU, which is clocked at 400MHz. There’s also support for 1080p video playback and recording. Intel is also banking heavily on its new Smart Idle Technology for better battery life than its competitors. This feature allows the CPU core and rest of the processor to switch off while the OS is still functioning.

Here are some of the highlights of the phone:

  • 4.03-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
