Social networking capabilities seem to have become the highly voiced out motive behind owning a smartphone. What else would explain the plans of Sony Ericsson to enhance the Facebook features that are available on its current models?

The popular handset maker has revealed its wishes to have Facebook more deeply integrated on its latest smartphones – Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and Mini Pro. The latest additions mean that the users of the above mentioned smartphones will not only be able to like photos and songs directly from their phones, but will also be able to view galleries directly, without opening the application on their phone.

Although, not many details were revealed, officials from the company did mention that several other Facebook features will be integrated in a better way on its newest models. A set date hasn’t been fixed for the updates to happen, but, a confirmed source states that Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Arc, Xperia Play, Xperia Neo and the Xperia X10 will include these enhanced Facebook features once their respective Gingerbread updates reach them.
